When I was a young girl of nine years my parents took me to a bingo game. One of the prizes was a beautiful oriental wood and ivory jewelry box. As soon as I saw it on the display table I was instantly attracted to it. I visualized it in the place of honor on my dresser and I saw myself putting jewelry on the soft brocade inside the little drawers. I stared at it, I drooled over it, I touched it… in other words, I wanted it! And right then I KNEW I had it. Now many years later I can see this special gift on the shelf next to my computer. It is my reminder. When I was “thirty-something” and knee deep into the laundry scene, what with my boys’ jeans and wrestling uniforms, the ultimate mother’s nightmare occurred. The washing machine started to go. It sounded like a freight train vibrating its way into my living room. I pampered it, I loved it, I prayed over it, I hated it, I kicked it, I even did Reiki healing on it… and all the while I saw myself doing laundry with a perfectly fine-tuned machine. There was one catch… at the time, I was in financial difficulties and had no idea how this would all happen. But there were no options. One has to wash clothes when one has teenagers. And I kept imagining that the machine I was using was working perfectly… until at last we put it to rest. THE day it died, I received a letter from my mother saying that she thought I would like a new washing machine. There was a check that was more than sufficient to buy a washer AND dryer. Although my mother was aware that these were older items, I had never communicated to her that I was in a near state of emergency. Coincidence? Luck? People have told me all of my life that I am “lucky”. A friend once said to me, “It is amazing how you manifest. You just think of something and it appears!” (This was again during my younger, more “broke” days. I was down to literally my last dime but always seeing myself with money… I really didn’t believe there was an option… when a check for several hundred dollars came in the mail out of nowhere.) I must be doing something right. And then it clicked. Desire a conscious change, energize it with your attention, and intention transforms, manifests and fulfills it. We can change our energy and choose to be unlimited and in abundance in all areas of our lives… now! Find a quiet spaceāand then fantasize, imagine, visualize, hear, taste, smell, feel, believe… to be aware in the present and intend will cause all of the sequences of events that support the intended outcome to fall into place. Deepak Chopra explains in The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success that “intent is desire without attachment to the outcome. Your intent is for the future, but your attention is in the present. As long as your attention is in the present, then your intent for the future will manifest, because the future is created in the present. Accept the present and intend the future.” Decide on what you want. Include love, wisdom, progress, gratitude and upliftment for all of those involved. Then project upon it, energize it, and generate some current. Use and focus on the non-physical currents that influence and create your world and cause things to manifest. We are also physical beings, so use that perspective and call upon your God-given life force for the purpose of creating. Release your attachment to specifics of the outcome and allow the Universe to organize and deliver to you what you want. And don’t forget… enjoy the magical journey! “In the beginning there was desire, which was the first seed of mind; sages, having meditated in their hearts, have discovered by their wisdom the connection of the existent with the non-existent.” The Hymn of Creation, The Rig Veda
