A Woman in Business…Featuring Glenda Stark

The Wig Shop is a full service wig salon. We are different in that we customize each wig for each individual woman. We can cut, thin and style each wig to flatter a woman’s face. We assist in every aspect in regards to helping to choose according to coloring and styling for the individual. We do a lot of work with cancer patients as well. Many insurance companies pay for wigs for cancer patients, something you may not know. Also, work with Alopecia patients and other patients with hair loss due to medications, etc.

We work with many stylish women that enjoy wearing wigs to parties, on cruises and to resorts and such! Nowadays, wigs are so natural that you may not even know that your good friend is wearing one!

How did you get started in your business?

I got started due to my own hair loss, Alopecia. God helped me open this shop and His presence is felt in this shop at all times, I believe.

What do you like most about your business?

I love helping the women with medical cases. I always say “Walking through the door is the hardest part”. I love the fun we have here…women to women! The peace. I was a successful career girl in the real estate market in Atlanta before starting this business.

What is the most important lesson you have learned from having your own business?

The beautiful women I meet here bring so much spirit into my own life! I learn from them every day.

What hobbies or activities do you like to do when you are off?

Exercise! I lift weights and do aerobics.

Do you have a philosophy or mission statement with your business?

This business is built on integrity and God’s love. Every woman that comes in has a story and they can talk to me. I always try to do the right thing.

What advice can you give to women starting their own business?

Listen to your heart! What are your true desires and what do you love? Do that.

And pray.

What do you think has made you the woman that you are today? Did someone influence you?

Being in real estate gave me a head for business. Having Alopecia was humbling and taught me good lessons of life…kindness, patience and tolerance.

Life is a journey.
