Suzy Le

Walking through the door of Suzy Le Nails, Spa & Tanning is like coming home. You’re welcomed with a smile, greeted warmly by name and seated in a comfortable chair for an appointment with relaxation and indulgence. It’s a welcome break from the fast-paced life beyond the double glass doors.
More than a nail place When Suzy Le opened Suzy Le Nails, Spa & Tanning at 40 Copeland Ave. in La Crosse more than a year ago, it was her third business endeavor. After finding what she says is the “perfect location” near downtown La Crosse, she set out to create an atmosphere in which her clients could relax and be pampered. According to Le and her customers, she succeeded. Manicures, pedicures, nail enhancements, tanning and facial services are all offered in a warm and serene environment. Though service and atmosphere play a part in customer satisfaction, Le says she emphasizes making customers feel good above all else. “This is so much more than just a nail place. You can come in, be yourself and feel good about yourself on the inside and outside,” Le said. “That’s the key to bringing customers back.”
Growing business and self Le’s success is credited to her 10 years of work in the service sector, of which the most recent seven were spent in the beauty industry. Even with that much experience, Le says she continues to learn more about business every day. Her greatest lesson, she says, was learning the art of growing business gracefully. “We don’t want to grow too fast because we value knowing our customers when they come through the door and being able to greet them by name,” Le says. “If a business grows too large too quickly, it’s easy to lose that client-focus.” Le also understands the importance of professional growth. She recently went back to school and finished her accounting degree. “I love working with numbers. It’s important as a business owner to have a basic understanding of accounting.”
Gaining an edge “We keep up with trends and technology that’s our edge,” Le says with a smile. She also notes the importance of a strong support network as part of her success. Her sister, Chau Nguyen, plays a lead role in the business. “I couldn’t do it by myself,” Le says, smiling. “Together, Chau and I balance vision and execution and run a better business because of it.” When it comes down to it, Le knows the real reason behind her success is keeping the client happy, and coming back for more. “We’re successful because we offer a full package in service, product and atmosphere. What really sets us apart is that we know our customers and make them feel comfortable and welcome,” Le says. “It’s simple. We understand their needs and provide the right service. D
