In Fitness and In Health

Forsyth Woman Engaged! (NC) Jan 2012

He’s proposed and you’re so excited that you can’t eat (or you are celebrating too much)!  Consider these healthy exercise and eating strategies to make sure you are healthy and fit on your wedding day.
●          Switch to a strength training workout.  Not only does this tone your arms for that wedding dress, but it’s a quick way to lose extra weight and increase your metabolism.
●          Consider changing your diet by eliminating processed foods and sugar; feed your body like a furnace with high quality foods, like lean protein, greens, and healthy carbs, such as brown rice and sweet potatoes. Then keep a journal for a week.  You will be amazed at the difference in your body and energy!
●          Become a grazer.  Grazing means eating smaller meals throughout the day.  This is a great way to keep from overeating and stay satiated.
●          Eliminate excess starches after 3:00 pm. Unless you are extremely active in the evening, you are more likely to store them as fat, rather than fuel.
●          Don't starve! Keep your body burning calories and prevent cravings by following these simple rules. Consistency is the key.
●          Get with a program.  Let Kimberly Coronel-Leonard of Strong Girl Fitness devise a custom plan using your goals and your timeline.
Celebrate the new, healthier you on your wedding day!
