Why Does Summer Always Seem to Race Past So Quickly?
By Jim Price, Owner Pondtastic Water Gardens
Isn’t it amazing how quickly summer races by every year? Yes, I’m talking about the hot months of June, July, August and even September. You blink and suddenly we are counting down the days until Christmas.
How is this possible? But summer’s always seemed short right? It goes back to when you were in school. You spend nine months in a classroom and then summer (freedom) arrives.
Baseball, And Apple Pie
You play a few games of baseball, catch a few fish, spend a few afternoons at the old swimmin’ hole, chow down on some sweet corn, and a few slices of mom’s apple pie, and suddenly school is threatening to start up all over again. Yes, that’s the way it used to be when you were back in school.
Fortunately For Us That Means We Throw A Few Logs On The Fire Pit
Yep, while our neighbors to the north are preparing for ice and snow and a long winter cooped up in the house, we can begin planning some holiday gatherings in the back yard.
I Love This Time Of Year!
Nice cool evenings and beautiful holiday decorations. It is the time of year when we have more family gathering and reconnect with old friends during the many holiday parties and dinners. But this is also the time of year when we all tend to get stressed out. All the shopping to do, all fighting holiday traffic, making travel plans etc. Here are a few ideas to make the most of the upcoming months and hopefully enjoy them a bit more.
. Enjoy a steaming hot cup of coffee with your newspaper every day, all month
. Plan a party and ask every single one of your friends to come
. Light up the fire pit alongside the pond that’s really fun
. Roast some hot dogs on the fire pit ... they’re really good
. Don’t forget to decorate around the pond!
. Slow down, even if it is only for a few minutes. Relax a enjoy the lifestyle
. Let the kids roast some marshmallows on the fire pit they’re really good too
. And don’t forget to take time to enjoy, appreciate, and wallow in Mother Nature
