"What do I have to do to be Healthy?"

Read the following information very carefully. Then you will know the one change you have to make to improve your health.

“Genetic variations do not cause disease but rather influence a person’s susceptibility to environmental factors.” - Centers for Disease Control

In other words, your health is not your genetics, it’s your environment, or more specifically, internal environment. Doesn’t this take some of the mystery out of being healthy? Now the question becomes, “How do I create the best internal environment?” The answer: Your body already knows how to do that. Let’s help it work right.

For one example, poor digestion is a major source of inflammation. Poorly digested particles become targets for the immune system to clean up. When the immune system attacks these particles, it also attacks tissues where the particles have settled. This leads to arthritis, fibromyalgia, and autoimmune disorders.

In 1988, C. Everett Koop, the Surgeon General of the United States, emphasized that chronic degenerative diseases must be prevented since the search for cures was fruitless and the treatment and rehabilitation cost-prohibitive. The one thing you have to change in order to improve your health? You have to change your mind. Were you hoping for a magic pill? Sorry, it doesn’t exist. You have to change your mind about important issues like: who is responsible for your health (you, not the doctor or insurance); what it means to be healthy (functioning normally, not just symptom-free); what you are willing to do to get better (whatever it takes, not just what your plan covers).

Once you have changed your mind, the rest comes easier. It is a matter of making your actions agree with your thoughts. Thoughts create action; actions create reality. It all comes down to choices.
