Celebration K-8 School: The Celebration Foundation was thrilled to award the Celebration K-8 School Nurse $3,900 to purchase a Welch Allen SPOT LXI Vital Signs Machine. Usually school nurses are only equipped with a standard blood pressure machine; however with childhood obesity and other critical childhood diseases; such as diabetes, often a blood pressure machine is not enough to correctly identify the problem.

Celebration K-8 School has a student body of 1,300. The nurse, Ms. Celeste Devine sees/treats 35- 40 students per day. Recently one student Ms. Devine was attending began jerking and seizing. EMS had to be called, the problem turned out to be lack of oxygen. This incident could have been avoided if Ms. Devine had this Welch Allen SPOT LXI Vital Signs Machine, which checks vital signs, oxygen levels, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. The machine also offers three (3) different size blood pressure cuffs.

The Mustard Seed was awarded $9,800 to provide 28 Osceola County disadvantaged households and their children necessary items to fill a home. Often families will have the opportunity to move into a home, but have no amenities to survive.

That is where The Mustard Seed helps; by providing basics such as beds, blankets, linens, a sofa, dining table, chairs, pots & pans, dishes, utensils, cleaning supplies, clothing and diapers. The Mustard Seed’s mission is to help rebuild the lives of families and individuals who have suffered disaster or personal difficulties by providing household furnishings, clothing, and other basics; “Furnish a home, Furnish a Future”.

Transformation Ministry of Osceola County was awarded $5,000 to provide residential housing for approximately 10-12 women who are suffering from physical, mental and/or substance abuse, regardless of racial/ethnic background or religion. This Ministry will equip women with social and practical life skills to help them become productive members of the community.
